A bigger content library is expected to deliver improved VR and AR experiences in schools
Avantis Education has launched Eduverse+ for ClassVR, which is an expanded content library designed to enhance virtual reality and augment reality experiences in schools around the world.
The new library comprises four advanced content suites: EduverseAI, WildWorld, STEAM3D, and CareerHub.
According to the UK-based innovative learning solutions provider, Avantis, Eduverse+ allows schools to create AI-powered, immersive, and customisable experiences to meet students’ needs at all educational levels, while also supporting advanced in-classroom learning.
Commenting on the launch of Eduverse+, Manjinder Kaur, Vice President of Product, Avantis Education, said: “Schools are demanding increasingly sophisticated experiences and want to take more ownership of content creation.
“Curated in partnership with the world’s leading VR/AR content creators, Eduverse+ directly addresses this need by providing access to an advanced suite of new and innovative resources.
“Since first launching Eduverse as the content engine for ClassVR, we’ve invested in the continuous development of curriculum-aligned content, which we will continue to do, but with Eduverse+ we’re giving schools the option to expand their VR/AR capabilities even further.”
Eduverse+ for Schools
Eduverse+ brings learning to life with personalised learning journeys through which students can explore AI-powered environments, transforming lessons into interactive and tactile experiences that enhance student understanding and engagement with topics.
WildWorld, for example, brings students on a virtual adventure into the natural world “like never before”. It includes immersive videos that delve into global habitats to replicate close encounters with wildlife, narrated films, and ‘wild fact’ resources focussing on particular animals.
STEAM3D is the next generation of ClassVR content for STEAM teaching, bringing an upgraded suite of immersive experiences for school subjects of art, biology, physics, and geography. It helps to expound scientific principles, complex concepts, microscopic details, and it has lifelike 3D models with interactive interfaces to support further learning.
Teachers can use CareerHub to locate content designed to help students learn and prepare for their future careers. By focussing classroom learning on real-world careers,CarrerHub can give students realistic hands-on experiences within sectors such as healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, and others.
Eduverse+ is now available as an enhanced subscription with ClassVR.
Manjinder added: “As we move towards a content creation economy, there’s been growing demand for ClassVR to facilitate AI-generated content.
“This comes at the same time as increased interest in using VR/AR for STEAM teaching and connecting classroom learning with real-world skills.
“Responding to this need, Eduverse+ provides access to a wide range of deeply immersive content across diverse topics and empowers students and teachers to create their own AI-generated VR experiences.”
Avantis provides classroom technology that is currently used by over two million students in more than 200,000 classrooms and 90 countries globally.
The company describes its technology as the “world’s first” virtual reality technology created specifically for education.
In October this year, Avantis continued its global expansion, bringing its brand of immersive learning to worldwide education institutions and groups by rdebuting new ClassVR integrations at the Los Angeles Unified School District (Los Angeles Unified).
In the same month, Avantis entered into a partnership with ICESCO. The partnership will see the immersive learning experts launch pilot programmes of its ClassVR product in four Islamic member states.
