Following a launch earlier this year, ClassVR reaches new territories
This week, immersive education solutions provider Avantis Education entered a partnership with ICESCO. The partnership will see the immersive learning experts launch pilot programmes of its ClassVR product in four Islamic member states.
The move will see Avantis Education launch its ClassVR service as a pilot programme in the affiliated states via an “effective process of thought leadership, planning, and execution,” stated Huw Williams, CEO of Avantis Education.
Williams added:
Successful countries always link the development of their education system to their national, economic, and societal needs.Avantis Education has developed a pilot methodology that enables an education system to most effectively and productively design, plan and implement successful digital teaching and learning, and allow Avantis to get first hand feedback from teachers and students in a variety of educational settings.
The partnership was initiated at the ICESCO Ministerial Conference in Oman, hosted this week between 2nd and 3rd October, with the initiative going into effect following the event.
The Avantis Education and ICESCO partnership will deploy immersive learning solutions over a 21-week programme, covering student training, teacher professional development, and impact analysis deliverables.
Williams also said:
Since ClassVR first launched, we have been engaged by ministries of education throughout the world to help determine how VR/AR can best contribute to regional improvement strategies. This latest pilot will gather meaningful and practical feedback that will ultimately help transform the future of education for ICESCO member states.
Avantis Education Debuts ClassVR, in June
Avantis Education unveiled new enhancements to the ClassVR software and content during the ISTELive event in Denver earlier this year. The company also shared best practices for using XR solutions and was joined on stage by Avantis Education’s U.S. education ambassadors, marking a major year of growth for the firm following this and the more recent ICESCO news.
With the introduction of Eduverse360 through ClassVR solutions, Avantis Education is expanding its content library by adding over 300,000 360° learning assets, including images and videos with information from around the world.
Avantis Education’s goal is to provide an engaging service that enables teachers to take students on virtual field trips using the newly enhanced integrations.
Chris Klein, the Vice President of Education at Avantis Education, said at the time:
There is mounting evidence that bringing VR/AR into lessons helps improve student outcomes by creating immersive learning experiences and increasing knowledge retention – across all subject areas. We’re continually developing ClassVR to meet the evolving needs of education, and Eduverse content is at the core of this strategy.
The company has distributed 300,000 educational assets in response to a growing demand for curriculum-aligned content across various academic subjects. Avantis Education’s ClassVR solution is currently being used by over 2 million students in 90 countries and is installed in many K-12 education institutions.
The company is expanding its product line to reach new students and regions. Earlier this year, Avantis Education introduced its Eduverse products to St. Vrain Valley Schools, a school district in Colorado. This partnership provided all 60 schools in the district with access to Eduverse’s library of immersive VR and AR services. The new VR solution was integrated sharply following the announcement, and Eduverse was added to the district’s ClassLink platform, enabling teachers to access the content using a single sign-on password, making it a simple and smooth process for new users.
