Vantari VR gains $7 million following a year of testing, expansion, and research
This week, Vantari VR secured roughly $7 million in a “pre-series” A funding round, which allows the Epic Games-supported immersive healthcare solutions provider to grow its product as the firm spent 2023 expanding into new territories.

Co:Act Capital led the Pre-series A funding round with further assistance from Acova Capital, Significant Early Venture Capital, and Sirius Capital.
Vantari VR Marks 2023 Global Expansion
Vantari VR announced in October that it has started introducing its software platform in the Middle East and Italy.
With this October expansion, the company aims to make medical training more accessible worldwide, especially for clinicians who need remote medical training solutions. Vantari VR is working to democratize emerging technologies in medical training to achieve its vision.
In June, Vantari VR also announced the expansion of its direct-to-clinician medical training software to a broader range of international professionals.
The June expansion came as part of a trend in XR technology, where enterprise-grade products are commonly established as software as a service (SaaS) or subscription-based platforms that offer access to a range of integrated, immersive applications – and in June, Vantari VR also joined the trend.
The Australian company launched its June rollout with training modules that allow healthcare professionals to upskill at home. According to the company, its June product rollout also helps democratize the technology by increasing the number of medical professionals who can access the platform, thus increasing its impact on the healthcare sector – leading to its further expansion/democratization goals seen later in October.
Vantari VR Proves Positive Healthcare Outcomes
Dr Andrew Goldberg, Staff Anaesthetist and Supervisor of Training, noted that the Vantari VR product could improve the accessibility and scope of healthcare education and training.
The software package enables training teams to save set-up time and “post-training clean-up sessions.” Moreover, the Doctor added that the planning required to book suitable, available spaces in the hospital to conduct training sessions and setting up the room/equipment – such as mannequins and scalpels – for juniors to practice are time-consuming, and VR helps to optimize this process.
According to the Doctor, set-up costs are dramatically expensive, “especially when considering that training hospitals run through multiple sessions each month for various training levels such as pre-anaesthetic trainee, trainees, nursing staff.” Saving money in healthcare training scenarios is beneficial, and VR can help accomplish this – the Doctor noted that “we will save massive amounts of money and time.”
Vantari VR’s healthcare solution comes as a laptop and VR headset package that trainees and mentors can access to find a suite of training applications. The company claims its solution can reduce medical errors by 40 per cent, based on a research program conducted in partnership with the University of Wollongong. The research also found that the Vantari VR training platform can improve student clinicians’ performance by 32 per cent and adherence to safety and hygiene training outcomes by 39 per cent.
Specialist Anaesthetist Dr. Cameron Main also noted the positive outcomes of VR-based training platforms in healthcare. The Doctor explained that Vantari VR services could help improve training flexibility for clinicians at all stages of their careers.
Dr. Main added that as a clinician with more than 20 years of experience and “no background in the virtual reality space,” he wanted to observe the usability of VR and how to apply it to complex procedures. The Doctor also noted how they were “surprised by the software’s capability to replicate the clinical environment in VR,” further noting how the “step-by-step progression felt familiar and immersive.”
