Create Worlds launches Wonderland Cloud to support consumer and enterprise WebXR goals
This week, innovative multi-user immersive platform service provider Create Worlds launched Wonderland Cloud, a landmark debut within the WebXR virtual application development landscape.
The multiuser framework aims to support consumer, and enterprise needs with a considerate design that aims to tackle the emerging challenges of delivering reliable spatial audio for web-based [WebXR] virtual reality services.
Jonathan Hale, Founder of Wonderland and CEO of Create Worlds, added:
For a long time the sweet spot of around 16-32 users was a technologically difficult problem to solve for web-based VR developers and restricted to a handful of specialized companies and platforms.Especially with 3D spatialized voice chat, which is essential for natural conversations in virtual meetups and events. Now everyone can build a real-time multiplayer web game, space or world, with spatial voice chat and low latency data transfer.
Support high-quality immersive experiences on wearables, which is an emerging problem for vendors, software providers, and enterprise end users. Wearables must be lightweight to allow for unintrusive headset devices, and this can become a problem for users wanting to leverage high-quality experiences.
The higher the quality of the immersive experience, the more computing power a headset needs, requiring a bigger device. Streaming and WebXR services like Wonderland Cloud allow end devices to support quality immersive services without relying on extensive hardware.
Create Worlds notes how its platform support of spatial audio removes the hardware burden on standalone VR headsets and mobile devices via optimised processing and bandwidth approaches.
Supporting Cross-Sector Real-Time WebXR
The WebXR service supports use cases in various sectors, Create Worlds notes.
Wonderland Cloud enables users to experience a real-time immersive environment, which updates for all active users simultaneously. With additional consideration for rapid iteration and static project content, free hosting.
Soeren Syrbe, Create Worlds’ CRO, also added:
We receive requests for all kinds of applications. For instance, one company is creating a virtual space for product displays. Spatial audio greatly enhances the user experience by allowing large groups to explore the exhibition freely, with participants hearing each other based on distance and direction–like in the real world.
Create Worlds is ready to demonstrate Wonderland Cloud and how it can reach various types of end-users. Create Worlds is showcasing this ability via two events online WebXR events that host roughly 20 users in each experience.
The events are held in immersive meeting rooms that users can join via a range of end devices such as PC, mobile, and VR headsets.
