Virtual TechLab offers users the ability to practice assembling IT components within a virtual environment ‘without limitations’, such as limited hardware, time and money, according to the Meta store description.
In a nutshell, you can learn at your own speed, expanding your understanding of IT hardware without have to worry about the consequences of making mistakes.
The developers of gamified social solutions, Changefied, will no doubt be gaining new levels of exposure for its Virtual TechLab solution on Meta’s online store, which includes VR and MR products, smart glasses, and of course its own Meta Quest headset, games, and experiences.
Erik Welling, Lead Software Engineer at Changefied, took to LinkedIn to share the new availability update: “Great news! Virtual TechLab is officially available on the Meta Store!
“With Virtual TechLab, students and professionals worldwide can now download the game and immerse themselves in a unique, interactive learning experience.
“Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refresh your knowledge, our platform offers the perfect environment to learn and grow.”
Welling continues:
“This is more than just a game; it’s a step towards the future of IT education.
“Join our adventure and discover how Virtual TechLab can transform your learning experience!”
Welling also appears to have replied to a concern raised on the Meta Store’s Virtual TechLab app page that it “seems to only be a demo”. He reassured the user that, from today, “the full experience is available to be purchased from the store”. Welling then provided a discount code for 20 percent off the first term: launch_20-1849D1.
What is Virtual Techlab?
Changefied describes Virtual TechLab on its website the leading virtual learning environment that is ‘revolutionising’ IT hardware education.
It explains that the application is designed with educational institutions in mind, particularly those specialising in technical education and IT-related subjects.
The benefits of Virtual TechLab include the fact that it can be used by all proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced and it brings students together within a collaborative space in which they can learn from one another.
A comprehensive range of virtual components from processors and memory modules to motherboards are available via the platform.
Students will leave well prepared for the ever-changing IT landscape, Changefied asserts, as they are shown the latest trends and technologies.
Finally, Virtual TechLab is helping to work towards a more sustainable future by allowiung students to practice their hands-on skills without wasting physical hardware, which results in less electronic waste.
In December last year, Changefied debuted Virtual TechLab, a VR solution that assists with IT training procedures.
Changefied was established just over a year ago, in June 2023. The North Holland-based firm aims to explore the future of IT hardware education with Virtual TechLab and its series of integrated repeatable and engaging immersive learning procedures, which the firm claims give students a competitive edge.
