Kodiak Gas Services Inc. (Kodiak), a provider of gas compression and related services, is expanding its footprint in the Permian Basin. The Woodlands, Texas, headquartered company began construction of two new facilities designed to strengthen its operations and expand its training offerings.
Midland Facility
Spanning nearly 22 acres (9 ha) and encompassing over 140,000 sq.ft. (13,006 m2) across multiple buildings, the new Midland, Texas, facility will support Kodiak’s growing operations while offering advanced training and development opportunities for its workforce as the new home of Bears Academy.
Featuring dedicated shop space, indoor training labs with virtual reality technology, interactive classrooms, and on-site student accommodations, Bears Academy will provide training for the compression industry. The Midland facility is expected to be completed in June 2026.
Pecos Facility
Kodiak also broke ground on a new facility in Pecos, Texas, which will serve as the future home for its operations in the western portion of the Permian Basin. Spanning nearly 9 acres (3.6 ha) and with over 24,000 sq.ft. (2229 m2) of shop and office space, the Pecos facility will focus on core services and operations, allowing Kodiak to better serve its customers throughout West Texas. It is expected to be completed in December 2025.
“The groundbreaking of our new facilities in Midland and Pecos marks an exciting next chapter in Kodiak’s journey across the Permian Basin,” said Chad Lenamon, executive vice president and chief operations officer of Kodiak. “These projects represent our continued investment in our people, our customers, and the communities where we operate.
